What is acupuncture?
acupuncture is a minimally-invasive, safe treatment that treats both the root cause and the symptoms of a patients illness. Acupuncture works in two primary ways: stimulating blood flow to affected tissue to promote healing, and promoting the release of endorphin hormones to help relieve pain.
Depending on your concerns, our practitioners may use different acupuncture techniques to best address your health goals, such as integrated functional acupuncture, dry-needling, and intramuscular stimulation.

In addition to the extensive training required to become a Doctor of Chiropractic or physiotherapist, our practitioners have undergone additional training in order to use acupuncture as an adjunct therapy. In order to become certified in acupuncture, our practitioners are required to complete additional academic and clinical training in an accredited college.

Chiropractic care and physiotherapy are not covered under OHIP. However, most extended insurance plans offer coverage. Check with your provider to see if your claims will be eligible. Please note that Catalyst does not offer direct billing.

Your first visit will be at least 45 minutes in length. Our chiropractors or physiotherapists will use this time to gather your health history and conduct a physical assessment to determine the root cause of your concern and create a care plan.
The last few minutes of your visit will involve receiving treatment, potentially including the use of acupuncture.
Please wear comfortable clothes to your visit, athletic wear is recommended.
